The person who understood your problem is not the person who makes the decisions that matter, and by the time that shows up in the product, everybody has moved on. Kimcard Technologies exists to close that gap: the engineer who scopes your project is the engineer who architects it, builds it, and is still there when it needs running.

David Kimani
Founder and principal engineer
David Kimani is a full-stack engineer with seven years building production web applications. He works mostly in the Vue and Laravel ecosystems, Nuxt, Vuetify, and Inertia, and owns the whole path from architecture to deploy, including the DevOps that keeps things running. He has shipped 27+ applications across healthcare, real estate, aviation security, and online marketplaces, and has contributed to Vuetify along the way.
He started Kimcard Technologies to do that work properly: senior engineering on every line, one person accountable for the result, and the operational side treated as part of the job rather than as something to hand off after launch. He architects and builds every project the studio takes on, and he runs rentiQ, the product this studio owns, on the same stack he sells.

One senior engineer, accountable
A senior engineer architects and builds every project, and stays the person answerable for it. You are not handed to a junior after the sales call, because there is no sales call and no junior to hand you to.
We scale with trusted collaborators
When a project genuinely needs more hands, we bring in collaborators we have worked with and would vouch for. The engineer who architected your system stays accountable for what they ship, and you are told who is working on your project.
We say no when we should
A studio this size can only do a few things well. If your project needs a fifteen-person team, a night shift, or a specialism we do not have, we will tell you on the first call rather than discovering it together in month three.
03 / Why
Why a studio and not an agency
An agency sells capacity: people, hours, and a process for coordinating them. That model works, and it is not this one. We sell the outcome of one engineer thinking hard about your system, which means we take fewer projects and go deeper into each.
It also means we keep our own product. rentiQ is property management software we built, operate, and pay the hosting bill for. Running it is how we learned what year two of a SaaS costs, and it is why the support retainers on our pricing page describe what one engineer can actually hold rather than what sounds impressive in a proposal.
The work we take on is Kenyan businesses that need software built properly, and international clients who want senior engineering without an agency in between. Nairobi is where we are. Remote is how most of it happens.
